How Does a Biogas Plant Generate Electricity?

Organic substrates (corn silage, slurry) ferment in the fermenter to biogas (approx. 52–55 % CH4); the biogas drives a gas engine which turns a generator — simultaneously, engine heat is used for the heating network.
